Editorial Review:Amazon.com:It's telling that Richard Marx broke into the music business singing backup vocals for Lionel Richie and writing songs with Kenny Rogers and Chicago, for he kept to the straightforward, middle-of-the-road approach of those acts once he became a recording artist in his own right--not that there's anything wrong with that. A dependable hitmaker throughout the late '80s and early '90s, Marx scored with rockers ("Don't Mean Nothing," "Should've Known Better"), and ballads ("Right Here Waiting," "Endless Summer Nights") alike.
Greatest Hits collects those songs as well as the lion's share of his high-end chart action--of which there was plenty, proving that a devotion to craft sometimes pays off better than fickle inspiration.

I have always liked Richard Marx. I bought his first two CDs when they were originally released. Then, my taste in music changed. I'm glad I came back to this collection with some really great songs.

Richard Marx is one of my favorite 80s rock singers. This cd is a good collection of his greatest hits from the 80s and 90s.

Richard Marx was the first pop artist I saw in concert and listening to this Greatest Hits CD brings back all the memories of that amazing night. These are the songs you dreamed of girls to, kissed girls to and danced with girls to in the '80s and early '90s. The music is emotional and moving and the liner notes are incredible because Marx gets personal (especially in the dedication to his father - wow). For the price, you simply CAN NOT beat this if you are a fan of Marx's music or you were in ...

I loved Richard Marx when I was a teenager, and listening to this album makes me remember why! All of the hits I expected, plus a few I wasn't as familiar with, but love just as much now that I've listened to them. The thing I especially like about this CD is that the liner notes are written by Richard where for each song he gives an insight into what was going on with his life and why he recorded it. If you ever liked any of Richard's songs in the past, you will not be disappointed with this purchase.
