The heavy-duty lid locks down during cooking; an inner sealing ring keeps the steam in. The Presto pressure cooker is wonderful--works like a charm. I have had Mirromatic pressure cookers all my life, but now I have found the Presto is better. I especially like the fact that it is stainless steel and not aluminum.

My only regret is that I didn't buy one of these sooner. This is a great product. I had heard horror stories about pressure cookers in the past, but these Presto pressure cookers are solid; very well made, and if you follow the directions by watching what you put into it- no jams or anything that would clog the spout, you will love this product.. Never any worries about safety when cooking with this. I think I will get the 6-quart next, as it would be a more useful size for me.

Was looking around to see is there any way to cook some things faster and I found this Presto Pressure Cooker. I can't imagine how we (my wife and me) did all cooking before! It is soooo faster and easier with this pressure cooker. And the size is right for 2-3 people, I like fresh food and this one as I said is just right capacity for our family of 3.
