You want hollandaise on poached eggs and chocolate sauce on a cake, but to do it right, you'll need a double boiler. Is it worth the grief? Yes, and this convenient midsize outfit reduces the grief by quickly providing what is needed for smooth sauces, while incidentally adding an extra 2-quart pan to a kitchen's repertoire. The pieces are made of highly polished stainless steel, and have phenolic handles that stay cool, are oven safe to 350 degrees, and have metal hanging loops; the large "knob" handle on the lid is also easy to get a hold of in a hurry. - ClassicI had been looking, for some time, for a double-boiler to make German rice like my Aunt does. This was a recipe from my grandmother who passed away before I was born. I was very pleased with how easy this was to work with. I really appreciate the classic look and feel of this cookware. It has a good weight and is very easy to clean. Faberware has been around for a long time and I think they really got it right again.

- Still great after year and a half.If you like the kitchen, this is a pan you must have. Found many but were pricier than what I wanted. Gave this one a try and very happy with the results and they way it has maintained itself.

- Farberware cookware is great and reasonableI haven't had a double boiler in ages and am so glad I finally purchased one from Amazon. Some probably use their double boilers as an alternative pan to cook in, but I don't. I use it strickly as a double boiler and I own a microwave too. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Farberware products and you won't have to sell the family jewels to own a whole set either!

- Great product for the priceIt is cheap but works well. It's thicker than I expected. You can use two pieces together but you can use them separately. In fact, I use them separately more often rather than together. In that way, you have two sauce pan!
