Someone is killing the supermodel clients of Hollywood plastic surgeon Albert Finney, and because this is a Michael Crichton movie, there has to be a pop-techno-scientific reason for it. Welcome to the daffy world of Looker, a 1981 film that manages to blend one or two interesting cultural ideas with a dismal storyline and a wonderfully cheesy early-Reagan-era look. The trail of murders leads to a corporation called Digital Matrix (Crichton always was prophetic about naming things), where head honcho James Coburn has launched a nonsensical plan involving TV commercials and mind control. Accused of the model deaths, Finney must track down the real culprit, aided by client Susan Dey (in her most appealing non-TV role). There's also a crazy "light gun" that causes victims to black out, a device that leads to some very strange shoot-outs. All of this might have been fun if the movie had any kind of suspense or distinctive characters. Albert Finney made this the same year he did Wolfen, after a hiatus from movie acting--a pair of eccentric choices, to be sure. Adding to the silliness is a truly wretched theme song, made the way they made 'em in the early '80s. --Robert Horton

- GET THIS MOVIE IT ROCKKKS i remember watching this movie a long time ago on hbo and all them years i tried to look for this movie and i got it here on amazon since then i been watching this movie like crazy . so if your thinking about getting this movie . get it . ok the only con is the theme song lol other then that its worth the buy :).

- Forget Jurassic Park!!!!!!!!!!!I used to watch Looker all the time when I was a little kid. It was one of those that could be seen on HBO frequently, so it was hard to avoid. I even had it taped on Beta(yes, BETA!!). As a child I never completely understood the plot details as they were a bit over my head at that age. I did know a plastic surgeon was investigating deaths of women and it somehow lead to a sinister looking guy with a mustache and some goofy fake tv commercials with no actors in them. - Still love itI loved Looker when I first seen it on HBO over 20 years ago and when I seen it on Amazon.com I just had to have it. I would recommend it to anyone who likes beautiful models, suspence, and action all combined into one movie. Definetly loved it. Enjoy

- Kinda offbeat but goodThis is a kinda offbeat but interesting movie. James Coburn and Albert Finny give somewhat believable performances. Susan Dey is very good, and there is more to this movie then seeing Laurie Partridge nude, however having said that, Susan Day nude is a plus. Some of the other cast need to take acting classes, and there is a change to see a young Tom Sellec lookalike.
