Editorial Review :
Kids with a propensity for music need not struggle with an adult-sized guitar to learn the chords. This smaller 30-inch steel-string guitar is just the right size for kid's hands and has thinner frets that are easier for kids to get their fingers around. In addition, strings have lower action than on an adult guitar to produce less vibration during strumming. The guitar is accurately strung onto a natural wood body, which makes for excellent sound and looks more authentic than many other "toy" guitars (so kids feel like real musicians. The wood body is protected by a rich, cherry-colored, high-gloss finish for beauty and durability. In addition to just being plain fun to play, the guitar helps children explore their creativity and self-expression, teaches hand-eye coordination and self-discipline, and enhances problem-solving skills and memory retention. --Cristina Vaamonde

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Perfect for a young kid to play with - Durable.
Our son got one of these about 6 months ago, around his 2nd birthday. Now here we are, 6 months later, and this guitar is still serving its purpose - it's a toy.

He's not gentle with it. I've lost count of how many times I've seen him step on the body or the neck. It's still going strong. No broken strings, no quality problems at all.

Guys - if your 10 or 12 year old is taking guitar lessons - buy him a guitar, not a toy that happens to be shaped like a guitar.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Looks good, sounds terrible
So, in this case we definitely got what we payed for so it shouldn't come as a suprise. It looks swell next to the Tacoma on the stand, but it is painful to hear. We couldn't get it in tune, much less keep it there. As far as I can tell, there's no way this will ever sound good.

On the other hand, it works great for the four year-old twins that play it. Hopefully the sound won't drive them away from learning that instrument.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Junk - Don't Buy
Fell apart within about 5 weeks of mild use. When tuning veneer cover pulled apart and splintered. Not worth $10.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - not a real instrument
This is a toy guitar. I can not say that enough. It does not stay in tune. My son received one as a gift from a relative a couple years ago. The only thing I can say is that, if you just want to see if a child would be interested in guitar, then you could buy it for that reason, it's cheap enough. It would certianly not be good for a child with a real interest in learning the guitar as they would be disapointed in the guitar not staying in tune and might then lose interest. If your serious about ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It was missing the pick
My brother had gotten this guitar for christmas. He was all excited about playing it. We opened it and there was no pick. At first we thought maybe it didn't come with one, but we went online and once we found out it was supposed to come with a pick me were shocked. It is a good guitar though, but if your going to buy one you might want to buy a pick first.
