Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Walk on and then some
I'm going to admit I'm a Boston fan myself. I only had their greatest hits CD for the longest time and decided to go and explore what I've been missing. "Walk On" is Boston, the guitars, synth, organ play, and not to mention those powerful vocals are all here. Scholz blows me away everytime I hear him play the organ, and especially the guitar, he really is a music genius!

So they added Fran Cosmo as the lead vocalist, but he's not that bad. I agree Brad is still the best vocalist Boston ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Boston CD, Even Without Brad Delp
WALK ON is a great Boston CD, even with vocalist Brad Delp (R.I.P.) being replaced by Fran Cosmo. The opening song, "I Need Your Love" describes accurately how I thought that a visit back to my old school might provide some grist for the dance-album idea mill, as would keeping in touch by phone with the people there, but came to the conclusion that it wasn't going to work out that way, a conclusion that really hit me as I developed one celebrity crush after another. The next one, "Surrender To Me", is ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Underrated Gem
I honestly never understood why there are so many negative reviews by Boston fans of this album. Musically the album is solid. Ok so Brad Delp did not sing, but that was not Tom's fault. Back in 1994 on a radio show promoting "Walk On" Tom stated that he had asked Brad Delp to sing on the album, but Brad refused because he was commited to do a project with RTZ(The band he was involved with Barry Goudreau). Jesus what was Brad thinking? Everything he did with Boston was sucessful or good. The best songs ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - BOSTON for the nineties and beyond...
BOSTON's Walk On was released during the summer of 1994 although it had been ready for release half a year before that. Original singer Brad Delp is replaced by the equally gifted Fran Cosmo along with some others on backing vocals. The production surpasses anything BOSTON has ever released before and tracks like I Need Your Love, Livin' For You, Walk On, What's Your Name and Magdalene sums up what BOSTON is all about. Great melodies, excellent arrangements and awesome guitarsound. That along with outstanding ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - More like 3 1/2 stars
Yes, having Brad Delp(R.I.P) on lead vocals would have been great on this album but sometimes things don't always work out the way you plan them. But a Boston album is not a Boston album without Tom Scholz who has always been the guiding force behind their success. While not the strongest album in their catalogue(I leave that to Third Stage)Walk On still has positives such as the Walk On Medley and my favorite, Magdalene which has a very catchy riff.
