Amazon.com:INXS fans can rejoice over the release of this buoyant concert film, shot during an ecstatic performance before 72,000 hopping fans in London's Wembley Stadium on July 13, 1991. The Australian band's vocalist, the late Michael Hutchence, is at his feral-romantic best, stalking and swiveling his way through an energized set of welterweight pop. The show starts with a big, boomy "Guns in the Sky," takes a turn toward unexpected soulfulness with "New Sensation," and spreads the wealth with a sharp set of ballads and rockers. Hutchence has fun with a naughty "Know the Difference," plays around with a Jagger-esque take on confessional soul in "The Loved One," and milks "Never Tear Us Apart" for all it's worth. The band sounds more muscular than they did in the studio, hard-charging and rough on "Suicide Blonde," drunk on a jazzy guitar hook in "Need You Tonight," and completely danceable on "Bitter Tears."

I have bought this one in VHS and a special CD edition back in the 90s as it was released, then I grabbed my DVD copy a few years ago and now I have this very specific DVD version, full of extras and even a "bonus" track which, by the way, could have been edited better... and now I guess I will be buying it again if a 'deluxe' edition hits the stores in 2011 celebrating the 20 years since the legendary Wembley Summer XS show - or hope so.
It's simply a must for any INXS fan, and even ...

It's amazing... this DVD begins with Jon at his drums, the sounds of 72,000 cheering fans, the helicopter whirling around in the sky, the guys running onto the stage, being introduced one by one... and then Michael runs out and the volume turns up... oh my !! You feel everything !!! I get chills every time ! This is the most awesome live music video ever... the guys are in top form... the six come together as one. The song list is great, from the ballad, "Never Tear Us Apart", in which Kirk's sax ...

This is it, every collection must have "Live Baby Live". Fantastic audio and the visions is as good as it gets, my only complaint is that I didn't get it sooner!

I really wanted to like this, but there is trouble when I find myself getting up from the chair to do household chores when a band is performing. There is no question of Michael Hutchence's rock charisma and value as the band's voice and frontman. No question either of the band's ability to write and perform catchy rock tunes. Somebody forgot they were FILMING this, and that our eyes like to see some COLOR and some VISUAL INTEREST. Maybe it's what I call the "Wembley Syndrome" - for some reason, ...

If you are an INXS fan, you gotta have this amazing material live from Wembley Stadium. Helicopters, cranes and of course an AMAZING performance of INXS make this DVD one of the best I've ever seen.
