Cookies that are uniform in size will bake evenly, creating a consistently perfect batch. Available also in small and large sizes, this medium-size scoop picks up approximately 1-1/2 tablespoons of dough, which yields a cookie 2-3/4 inches in diameter. While the handles are spread a bit wide for small hands to manage easily, the soft grips do add comfort when squeezing to release the dough. - Works great ....I just used the medium size Oxo cookie scoop to make 14 dozen cookies over a 3-day period. I had 4 different doughs: traditional chocolate chip, white-chocolate macadamia nut, chocolate chocolate chip, and cranberry walnut oatmeal. I used chilled dough, and this little scoop held up just fine.
The size is perfect: it makes beautiful uniform-size cookies (about 3" diameter for all but the oatmeal -- those ended up about 2.5"). I can also see using it to make meatballs.
