The Red Skelton Show made its television debut in 1951 and became one of the longest-running variety series on tevevision. Each show features comedy skits, gags and vignettes starring Skelton and guest performers. His comedy sketches included well-known characters such as Freddie the Freeloader, Clem Kadiddlehopper and Cauliflower McPugg. Always at the top of the ratings chart, The Red Skelton Show ran for more than 20 years.
