It's always good to hear Waylon, & this greatest hits covers most stuff. I would have liked to have had more examples of his work with Chet & some with Jesse, but what are ya gonna do. Rating: - Essential Songs
While I mostly listen to more modern country now (since that is what is on the radio) I got started on the classics. I rediscovered in college my love for the old bad boys of country music. This album is a must if you like the old outlaws of this genere.

I have been a lead singer in bands since 1965. In the mid 1990's I was invited to join a country band, which was about the only genres I hadn't done before. They had a motive and so did I. They wanted a whining harp player to back "their" Willie Nelson sound alike and sing harmony. After a couple of gigs, I was asked to sing lead on a number. I chose Waylon's, "Rose In Paradise".
