I use a pt-2 to tune my yamaha bass. I removed one of the rubber pads off the clamp because (duh) rubber is a good sound insulator. Works much better. I put a piece of masking tape on it to prevent scratching.

Intellitouch PT1 Tuner
This is the WORST tuner I have ever owned. It is insensitive and inaccurate - a piece of junk and a waste of money.
It is cheaply constructed and takes ages to find the note - especially on the lower guitar strings (it never even found low E on my Washburn electric!). Save your money and buy a BOSS or KORG - with a pickup if you need to tune up in a noisy environment.

I use this to tune up among other guitarists in a sometimes noisy room. Works great with no interference. Easy to read, easy to understand, easy to attach and remove. Comes with an unexpectedly nice case for it too. The attachment clamp opens to a total width of 7/8 inch (about 2.5 centimeters).

I have used many tuners and the PT1 to be one of the best for tuning acoustic guitars under any conditions. It's size makes it very convenient to use and it comes with a nice, easy to use storage case (that still shows no signs of wear). I purchased one of these when they first came out and a few years later I purchased a second to keep with my other guitar. The batteries last a very long time, in fact, within the last few weeks I finally replaced them in my older unit (after years of use).

I have used mine for a few years now, and think it's great. The other tuners I had were irritating to use.
