- Fabulous Batteryless Remote Control I bought this to remotely control a vacuum while I was on a ladder paint stripping. I haven't used it for that due to weather conditions. However, it makes a great remote control light switch to turn on or off the down stairs lights when you're upstairs or in another room. It saves energy. It could also be used with a little ingenuity to make a low power consumption doorbell. The ones now continuously transform 120ac to 16ac whether it is used or not.
