Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Bluetooth operation depends on the devices and software version used. Operating distance is approximately 10 meters but may vary due to obstacles, radio signals, locations where radio interference occurs, magnetic fields from microwave ovens, device sensitivity and/or antenna performance.

Amazon.com Product Description:
The Canon BU-20 Bluetooth Adapter uses Bluetooth wireless technology to print your photos. With this device you can quickly and easily send photos from your PDA, laptop, or PC to a Canon compact photo printer. Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - You probably don't need this
This product works fine for what is intended, that is, printing wirelessly. The range is somewhat limited because it is bluetooth, not wifi, and you cannot scan to your computer, but neither can you do so with many wireless print servers. What canon doesn't tell you, of course, is that this adapter doesn't offer any additional functionality over any bluetooth dongle off-the-shelf. At least that's the case for my mp610 AIO. I use an aluratek abd2020, and everything works fine right out of the package. ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Waaaaay too slow
The product was way too slow in transferring my iPhotos to the Canon printer. Sent it back immediately. Amazon was really great about the refund. No cost for mailing and a prompt credit to my credit card account.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Bluetooth, adapter for Canon All in One
This product is useless. No range, slow and not able to facilitate printing for some reason, perhaps because there appears to be no cache. The connection is made and then print job stall and do not print. Could not connect 15 feet away.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - 2 out of 3 AIN'T GOOD!
I just purchased the Canon BU-20 Bluetooth adapter to go with my Canon Pixma520 and Apple iMac ( which runs Leopard X 10.5) and am totally disappointed. I was trying to have as few wired connections as possible, which tempted me to buy this adapter in the first place. However, I CAN'T SCAN a single thing!!! I spent close to $50 on something that doesn't fully replace a standard $10 USB cable!

I admit I'm a little new to "bluetooth" technology, but I had no idea you could "never" transmit ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Don't believe what you hear!
First off, despite what you may have read, this adapter most definitely DOES work both ways! You can easily print and controll ALL functions of your printer AND you do get ink cart status readings! Anyone who says that they dont get ink readings is blaming the wrong thing. They need to blame themselves as they are no doubt using non-Canon or refurbished carts. New carts come with an attached microchip that reads the status. Most, but not all, refurbished carts do NOT have the chip and therefore do NOT ... Read More
