- GREAT PRODUCT but...
We own two homes and put these in our beach house so we didn't have to yell all the time from the third floor to the ground floor; initially a little tricky to get each unit linked to the other but after a little trial and error they were all up and working in short order. We were so impressed with the clarity and simplicity of these we ordered more to have one in each bedroom too. BUT, simplicity, which has it's advantages, can be TOO simple sometime...

First pair arrived DOA (minus one star) and took an hour with tech support before everyone gave up, but the next pair came and I set it up in under a minute.

Here's a hint: the instructions tell you to install each one (which usually means separating them), THEN set it up, but to do that, you have to use both units at nearly the same time, and that would take two people. I bought this intercom sometime in August 2008. It works perfectly, absolutely no issues, it comes over loud and clear. I have it mounted into the wall. The package comes with 2 intercoms, each intercom takes 4 "C" batteries. You have to press the talk button to speak, then let go of the button. There is no open air, so you are not hearing what is going on in another room unless you press the talk button. Get it? I bought a pair of these REPORTER Wireless Flush-Mount Intercoms so as to be able to answer the bell outside our large foyer doors without exposing ourselves to strangers and salespeople.
