What is BPA?
Bisphenol-A is an ingredient used to make polycarbonate. In recent months, there has been increasing consumer demand for a bottle that is not made with Bisphenol-A (BPA), and CamelBak is proud to introduce BPA-free bottles with the same great properties customers have come to expect from polycarbonate: vibrant color, clarity, durability, dishwasher-safe, and with no residual taste. As of the end of April 2008, the entire CamelBak bottle line will be available in BPA-Free materials in North America.

What are phthalates?
Phthalates (pronounced thal-ates) are a component added to some plastics to make them soft and pliable. None of CamelBak's bottles have ever contained phthalates.

What is the BPA-free Better Bottle made from?
The CamelBak Better Bottle line is made from a new copolyester polymer called Tritan, made by Eastman. It offers the same great qualities that we have come to expect from polycarbonate bottles and is 100 percent BPA-Free. I use this every day for carrying fluid to drink at work (Tea etc.) I was worried that the bite valve would be gross after a bit, but seems to wash in the dishwasher just fine. It does not leak!!!! From a size perspective the .75L is more manageable, as the 1L is kinda big, but still good.

Very nice bottle that can be bought at most sporting goods stores for 50% more. It encourages me to drink more water and is better for the environment than buying prepackaged plastic water bottles.

I bought this for my wife who is concerned about the health implications of BPA, she got this and put it to use right away. This bottle has been to the gym, hit the floor at times and has been left in the hot car at times and not once has it leaked. I have seen other bottles just like it but probably not BPA free, so I guess the manufacturer can place a heavy price tag on it even though there are not many features to it.

I love my Better Bottle, and I recommend it often. My husband and daughter each had to have one too. :) It's a great gift, a great reminder to drink water, and a wonderful environmental choice! It's perfect for the gym, fits in all cup holders, and you can throw it in a bag without worrying about leaks. Dishwasher safe. It's the greatest bottle ever made. I am a huge fan. :)
