Easy Set-Up with Push 'N' Connect Setting up and connecting to the WNR2000 couldn't be easier. The router comes with a Smart Wizard installation CD that vastly simplifies the initial set-up process by automatically detecting and configuring your router for virtually all ISP connections.
Once your network is set up, the router's "Push 'N' Connect" feature takes over. To add a new computer to your network, you simply push a button on the router, and the router connects automatically and securely. This means that the days of having to remember complicated security keys and passwords are over. (This feature requires the use of compatible NETGEAR wireless adapters such as the NETGEAR WN111, WNDA3100, or WG111.)
The router has four Ethernet ports for wired connections. It also automatically checks and upgrades to the latest software, so you'll always be certain it's up-to-date and offering optimal performance.
Smart and Green Design The router has an elegant and clean design, relying on internal antennas that offer maximum range without detracting from its streamlined look. An on/off switch lets you turn off the router when it's not in use. Energy Star compliant, the WNR2000 is stingy in its power use, and with packaging that's made of 80-percent recycled materials, it's as green as it gets.
High-Class Security Keeps Your Info Safe The WNR2000 Wireless-N Router offers strong, double firewall protection that includes network address translation (NAT) to keep you network hidden from outside users, and stateful packet inspection (SPI) firewall to deny outside requests for personal information.
Other security measures include denial-of-service (DoS) attack prevention, intrusion detection and prevention (IDS), and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK). The router offers both 64-bit and 128-bit encryption as well as a wireless access control that identifies authorized wireless network devices connected to your network.
For parental peace of mind, there are several options designed to keep your kids safe, including URL content filtering, time-based usage controls, and "trusted user" controls. The router's remote management controls make it easy to keep your kids online and protected.
NOTE: To achieve maximum speed and performance, NETGEAR recommends the use of the following Wireless-N adapters: RangeMax Wireless-N Laptop Adapter (WN511B), RangeMax Wireless-N PCI Adapter (WN311B), RangeMax Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter (WN111).
The NETGEAR WNR2000 Wireless-N Router measures 7 x 5.1 x 1.4 inches (HxWxD) and comes with a one-year manufacturer's warranty.
What's in the Box Wireless-N router, stand, Ethernet cable, setup CD, power adapter, warranty/support information card.

I took a while to get to this review, I didn't want to disturb my home network till I had some time to play with it. It's interesting that a couple of the tag suggestions for this product are warning and unreliable, do they pull these from previous reviews maybe. I had other problems.
Reading through the literature I was convinced that I'd not be able to get my wireless components to work, because they are not Netgear. While I suppose that's a good thing, sometimes cause matched equipment ...

I've been running a Wireless G network for a while now, but all but one of my machines has gone back to good ol' wired (moving to place prewired for Ethernet certainly helped). G just isn't fast or stable enough for the large file transfers I do regularly over my network. When I got this wireless N router set up (which was extremely easy, though most routers are these days), I decided to go pick up a WirelessN ExpressCard for my laptop to give the N side a real test.
I didn't do an objective ...

Everytime I purchase a product, my biggest concern will always be - does it work as advertised? And if it doesn't, how does the company (including customer support) address the issues? I would advise that before you buy one, to check not only customer reviews but also their feedback in dealing with the company's customer support area. Of course you cannot please every customer and not everyone has the same technical aptitude in using a product, but reading reviews regarding reliability of the product itself ...

My hope was to begin to build a new, faster, easier wireless network in my home (1 desktop, 3 laptops, a mix of XP and Vista). My focus is entirely on what the internet and network gets me rather than on getting the internet and network to work.
The idea of very easy setup was appealing.
Only it wasn't that easy at all. Not for me. Never got it to work in fact.
First off the one button setup that seems to be a key feature only works with particular Netgear wireless adapters. ...

I've recently entered the world of N-band in my home wireless network, using the Linksys WRT150N, which performs relatively well in my smallish home. I decided to get the Netgear WNR2000 to see how it compared to Linksys's offering.
I used both in exactly the same location and using similar settings (WPA Personal Encryption, etc.) and gave them a range and throughput test.
The first, very noticable difference between the two is the Netgear's lack of external antenna(s). While the Linksys has ...
