This is by far the best laptop I have ever owned. I bought it to replace my three year old MAC and I have never looked back. For starters, it connects to my home's wireless network without any issues. The keyboard layout is excellent and very efficient. The integrated webcam is perfect; Veriface even takes pictures of anyone trying to access your laptop while you're away. Hard drive capacity is typical for a laptop but I have added two external drives using the perfectly placed USB ports. Oh, ...

Here is the short version of my review - "DONT BUY! IF YOU FORGET THE PASSWORD THEN YOU NEED TO THROW AWAY THE LAPTOP OR PAY $500 TO LENOVO TO REPLACE THE MOTHERBOARD AND HARDDRIVE.
I recently bought a Y510 Ideapad from Lenovo. Right out of the box the machine runs a program called Veriface which is supposed to be a face recognition application - this works well only if you are in a well lighted place otherwise it keeps complaining.
Also, first time out of the box the machine ...

160 GB just isn't what it used to be. When the dust settles plan on having a 105 GB hard drive. The missing 55 GB is allocated between the D-partition (27.1 GB) and the pre-installed OneKey Recovery feature. So if you need more hard drive capacity you might want to think about upgrading.

I've had the Y510 for almost a month. I'm happy with it; its my first laptop purchase ever. I'm using it for very basic use but the internet is fast, the screen looks great and Vista is working well so far. Just hooked up a wireless printer - the installation was quick and easy. It's a little heavier then I would have liked, touch pad has a mind of its own sometimes but that could user error. Screen does show a lot of finger prints, but just wipe with cloth Lenovo provides and its fine. So far so good.

I purchased a Lenovo Y510 2 months ago. It works fine, is very responsive, with good memory, RAM, etc. To my shock, I recently found out that Lenovo does not make a Docking Station for the computer! In fact, they have no idea if they ever will. I spoke to their representatives for nearly an hour and got nowhere, other than stalling. When referred to the Complaint Dept. I got a recording. One would think that a professional (?) mfg. firm would provide ancillary support items!!!!
