- Interesting but not helpful enoughThe book is mostly full of beautiful pictures of rugs of all ages. Most, however, are higher end and not the market I can afford to be interested in. I had been hoping the book would at least comment on the (quality of the) thousands of rugs being sold on ebay each day for hundreds (not thousands) of dollars. I had been also hoping for more background information regarding the various types of rugs, but there was little. I am seeking a more comprehensive text than this, I think.

I think this very informative book full of information will be appreciated by anyone interested in oriental carpets- interior decorators/collectors/students-and anyone thinking of purchasing a carpet for their home. Excellent photographs, price guidelines,and tips for care and repair.

- Not a must have, but a nice haveBasic rug construction information. If you're looking for pricing this book will give you an idea of the going rate for many types of rugs. Mostly new rug pricing with some older and antique rugs pricing at back.
