Rating: - Netgear and Linux
This is my second Netgear USB wireless adapter. I've been using one happily for a couple years on my desktop (Windows) system.
My neighbor offered me a few old desktop computers he was going to throw out, urging me to try to get one going with parts from the three. (I can't turn down free junk.) The ex-corporate Compaq responded favorably to my tinkering, so it seemed like a good time to download a copy of the Linux operating system to see what that environment is like.
I decided to try the Mandriva distribution after reading summaries of the various kinds at linux.com. The installation went well and I was navigating comfortably in a short while. I plugged in the Netgear adapter into a USB port, and moments later I was informed that my home's wireless network had been found and what was the password? I typed it in and was off and running, just like that.
My compliments to Netgear for making a good, inexpensive adapter, and to Mandriva for having its driver right in their basic installation to handle it.
Rating: - A product that performs quite well.
I purchased a desktop recently and needed an object that would grant wireless capability to it. This product was the perfect product for me. The price is mediocre. In contrast, the performance of the product is great. I compared it to my laptop's connectivity and it was little faster than the one on my laptop. Easy to install, looks good too. A great deal.
Rating: - this one is very good to me
a little problem when I install it,
but after one day, it works with no reason.
very stable, keeping connected.
great for this price.
Rating: - Strong Signal, Vista 64 Support
Originally bought this because it is one of the few wireless networking adapters that has drivers that will work with Vista 64. It has performed flawlessly over the last few months under regular use. I was having trouble on an separate XP system using a Linksys USB adapter, but the WG111 gets a strong signal and never drops it. Overall I have found the Netgear wireless adapters to outperform the Linksys. This would be a good buy at twice the price.
Rating: - Good product
This wireless usb adapter works pretty well. I had a little trouble using it on a computer with usb 1.1 so we had to use it with another computer. It gets a little hot but it hasn't given us any problems.
