This workout is a must for those who want to lose weight and have fun. Dance away the pounds. It's great for the hips, waist, thighs and just burning calories. A must for everyone!
Rating: - A Very Fun Dance Workout
As a former dance enthusiast in her mid-30s who hadn't really worked out for a couple of post-baby years, this video was a breath of fresh air. The moves were easy, though it took a few viewings before I was able to really master them. This was fine, as it prevents boredom and makes the video more worthwhile. Vanessa has an infectious smile and she and the cast seem to really have fun, which truly helped to motivate me. I also appreciate that the workout was done barefoot, which I prefer. (Why wear clunky gym shoes in the living room?!)
The music was outstanding. The DVD includes a section or two of just Brazilian music, which I actually have used to motivate me to clean my house faster! I wish Vanessa lived closer or had more dance workout DVDs because she is a great teacher. I am amazed that I have gotten so much more fit and have lost several pounds in the month or so since I first got this DVD. I seriously wish all dance workouts were this cool. Thank you, Vanessa!
Rating: - Excellent workout and VERY VERY fun
I really just recommend this workout wholeheartedly. It's helped me with my samba moves, and it's just a lot of fun. If you want to make it even harder, you can run in place or jump rope (or bounce from side to side, which makes sense given the music) in between segments, when she is breaking things down at a very slow pace (which is a good thing, actually, her cueing is excellent).
Overall fantastic DVD, and I LOVE the Santa Barbara setting.

Ok I have to piont out pros and cons. I do want to start out by saying I highly recommend this DVD for someone who wants to get a nice full body cardio workout. Vanessa will have you breaking a sweat. If you have never done any kind of dance or cardio (step-workout etc.)then take it slow, I had to get used to the different movements so give yourself some time, after you do the DVD a few times you will get the hang of it and like anything else it will get easier. :) just have fun with it, it is a really fun work out! The music is great , not the borring workout music some DVD's have.

i love this dvd!! i have been latin dancing for years, never daring to actually get a dance workout dvd. i am glad i found this one. if you are looking to learn dance moves to use in a club, this isn't for you. but, if you want to find a great workout that combines a little history and culture into one routine, this may be it. i do this dvd with tahitian cardio or yoga to get an even better workout. but truthfully, this dvd will give you a dancers abs. i really love it!
