- the best movie ever!This movie was not that scary to me because I don't get scared easily. But it was very good. There is not a minute that something is not happing. It is very good. Hope this helps someone.

- Better than the original.I can remember watching the original movie when I was younger and thinking that some of the scenes were pretty goofy. This one has a sharper edge, most of the goofy crap is gone, some goofy crap has been introduced but its still overall better than the original. It definitely doesn't stink like the re-make of The Fog. Now the only thing we need is a re-make of the Phantasm (maybe ex-pres Jimmy Carter can play the role of the Tall Man).

Ronald (Butch) used his .35cal-Marlin rifle for the murders and not a shot-gun! Also Jodie DeFeo had a single hole in her forhead due to the impact of Ronald's .35cal-Marlin rifle. - SCARY!I like The Amityville Horror. But,WARNING: Do not watch this alone in a dark room, trust me. This movie is truly scary because you never know what's going to happen next. If you scare easily this movie is not for you. In this movie there is a fair amount of suspense too, like when they find their daughter walking on the roof! The mom has to climb up there, but she can't get to her because the chimney is in the way. I think the coolest part is when the dad is in the bathtub and hands come up and grab him. The Amityville Horror is cool, scary, and watching it is something to do when you're bored. Buy it and your money is well spent.

- THE AMITYVILLE HORRORpretty surprised by this film after it took a beating by reviewers..i watched it with my wife and after the 40 min mark she bailed because she was too scared to watch the rest..this movie moves very fast with the scares seem like every few minutes there was some tension..check this one out
