Wondering why they didn't come standard with the tripod, concern was allayed by the fact that like most Manfrotto products, they are sturdily built and work as described. With a simple demounting of the existing tripod grips and installation of the new, they fit snugly and can be adjusted to control the amount of spike you need for each tripod leg. The tip recesses nicely via screwing in and out, in case you don't need the spike tips and want it to function as the grips that come with the tripod. Comes with installation tool.
