It is important to make sure the opener is vertical to the bottle. My wife held it at a slight angle to the bottle and permenantly bent the corkscrew. It still works well, but not a good as before...

- The best I have ever usedThis is by far the best wine opener I have ever used. Simple to use and even easier to retrieve the cork. And I have found that it does hold a charge for a long time. I don't keep it plugged in all the time, instead we just keep it in our pantry and take it out whenever we need to open a bottle. Has worked fine every time. I only plug it in occasionally to maintain the charge.

- A good openerNo problems with this one, and it looks good too. It does tend to lose it's charge rather quickly if left off the charger (completely dead after a full charge and two days off the base station).
