Rating: - No Nitro Finishes!
This stand came with a sticker informing me that the foam rubber would damage nitrocellulose finishes. Well, since that's what my guitar's have, it would have really been nice to see that in the description so I didn't waste my money on it.
Other than that complaint, it's a guitar stand that's stable and does the job it's supposed to. If you have a lacquer finished guitar look elsewhere, otherwise this should be fine.
If it were not for the compatibility with finishes, I would give it 5 stars.
Rating: - Buyer alert
It should be noted that this stand is "Not recommended for guitars with Nitro Cellulous finish". That leaves Gibsons out.
Rating: - Great stand for the price
Elegant, black, and stable. The tubular design
is classic, with a swiveled bottom post allowing
your axe to find its own balance. The bottom
posts are thickly cushioned, with more than adequate
cushioning on the neck rest. The neck rest is about
3" deep, a nice balance between access and accidents.
My only gripe is that when full down, the adjustable
neck post lines up with 8th fret, I'd prefer the octave,
but I can always take a hacksaw and take shorten it 2"
Great stand, removable neck, folding legs if you need
to toss in your gig bag.
