- Great! I wish Nikon and others made more like this!This semi-soft case was perfect for my needs. Most of the time, you don't want to have to carry a whole camera bag with you - nor do you need to if you do not plan on changing lenses. But you want to have SOME protection on your camera and that is where this case comes in. This case protects the camera from dust and cosmetic wear that would happen if left uncovered. The best part is, that it does not add any size to the camera...I usually put my camera in my desk drawer with this on it. I found this to be very well made. I have had for over a year and had no problems with it. It looks almost new.
NIKON, please make this for your other camera kits as well! I would love one for the D90 :)

- An Essential AccessoryThe Nikon CF-DC1 Semi-Soft Case is a great protective accessory for my Nikon D40 camera. It is not a camera bag and shouldn't be expected to take the place of a camera/gadget bag. It is a protective case and it does the job very well. I keep it on my camera all the time when not actually taking pictures. I often carry my camera on my shoulder for easy access when sightseeing and this case protects it from bumps and bruises. It protected my camera from damage when I dropped it and it came in very handy when we were out on a boat and the sea spray was getting us. I will agree with other posters that the case is a bit awkward but there is a little snap tab on one side that you can fasten around your Nikon strap that keeps the case handy. I just slide the case up the strap out of the way. My daughter just received a Nikon D40 from her husband for her birthday yesterday. I recommended this accessory as a must-have. She is buying it today. By the way ladies, if you are like me and sometimes carry your camera in your purse or tote bag this case protects it from the other items you carry.

- Nicon Semi-Soft CaseNot what I expected. Case has to be removed before the camera can be used. The case is just about large enough to fit the body and an 18mm-55mm lens-larger lenses won't fit. There are no external or internal pockets for extra SD cards or batteries. Not even well padded. Big price for a useless product.
