Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Ian Anderson Plays The Orchestral Jethro Tull
Mr. Anderson continues to astound. He never disappoints and this performance is no exception. Musically he does it all, and just gets better with age.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Brilliant!
Ian Anderson has always been original, a very creative musician. Beginning with Jethro Tull his music, both with its lyrics and with his style have been innovative and culturally rebellious. Well, 60s, and 70s are gone. The youth of those days protested and rebelled against the culture of its day, but now they have become older and are living in their culture, you might call it "rock'n roll" culture or whatever. Now, in this DVD I see Ian Anderson rebelling against today's kind of rusty, mildew smelling rock culture. He took Jethro Tull songs and showed us in fact how classy they are by having a strings orchestra and by modifying the songs and in one sense making fun with his own music. Marvelous. I loved every one of the songs but especially those after he played Bourree. And if you know anything about Faure's Pavane, a classical piece, you can see how genius this man is, because he has modified and turned a somewhat sad tune into a celebration song. Stairway to Heaven seemed to us a mere rock piece, but if you have heard its version played by a classical orchestra without Led Zeppelin, you probably noticed that it sounded just right, felt home. Can you imagine Led Zeppelin writing a classical piece, not classic rock, but a classic music? They showed that they did with that orchestral arrangement. I felt just that with this DVD. But not only that, because Ian Anderson and a rock band played with him in addition to the strings orchestra, the good-old rock'n roll feeling was not lost. If you appreciate the wit and wisdom of Jethro Tull, you will like this DVD. And if you like this DVD try also Ritchie Blackmore's "Blackmore's Night -- Castles & Dreams" DVD. Thank you Ian Anderson. Your work has class!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Dvd.
Its good to have the power to raise an unfair one star review to an average over three! This is a fantastic dvd that all true Tull will want to own.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Could have been 4 stars........
The first DVD that I received had a momentary pause and then something flashed on the screen for a moment. This appeared on any DVD player, apparently some sort of a defect when putting the production together. Amazon replaced the disk without a problem but the replacement DVD predictably did the same. I don't have the patience to keep returning the thing until the error is corrected. That's a shame because the concert was different than most others, a nice mix of Anderson's lighter music and classics, and quite enjoyable. I would have rated this a 4 if I could get a DVD that wasn't flawed.
